This position is responsible for inspecting fabricated and assembled products throughout the production process and ensuring every item meets company quality standards and blueprint specifications before leaving the shop. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, experienced with metal fabrication, and confident identifying and communicating quality issues. Key Responsibilities Inspect finished and in-process products to ensure they meet blueprint specifications, dimensions, and quality standards. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to verify products are manufactured accurately Confirm all required parts and components are present before products move to the next stage or are shipped. Inspect materials and assemblies for proper fit, alignment, dimensions, fastening, and overall workmanship. Identify substandard welds, fabrication defects, incorrect dimensions, poor fit-up, and other quality issues. Mark cutting lines and verify materials are cut and fabricated according to specifications. Test products for proper functionality and performance. Perform troubleshooting and stress testing when needed to identify potential failures or defects before products are shipped. The Maintenance Lead will serve as a hands-on member of the maintenance team with added responsibility for MaintainX/work-order administration, basic maintenance planning, preventative maintenance tracking, and parts ordering. This is not a manager or supervisor role. The Maintenance Lead works on equipment and receives work orders alongside the team while helping keep maintenance activity organized and visible to the General Manager. Key Responsibilities • Perform hands-on troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on production equipment, heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and related assets. • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, wiring/control, motor, pump, bearing, conveyor, and gearbox issues; perform welding/fabrication as needed. • Review MaintainX requests, approve routine requests within guidelines, monitor open/overdue work, and help distribute work orders among all maintenance team members, including self. • Assist with basic maintenance planning by identifying needed labor, parts, tools, information, and anticipated equipment downtime. • Monitor preventative maintenance schedules, complete assigned PMs, and create follow-up work orders when additional repairs are identified. • Identify, source, and order parts/supplies; verify part numbers/specifications and compare price, quality, availability, and lead time. • Maintain accurate work-order, repair, parts, and equipment-history records and communicate significant issues to the General Manager.
