About the Job

Duties include: Install, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical components of industrial equipment.
Work as a team member or alone to complete projects.
On call to assist 24/7 operations in preventing unplanned downtime and or reducing downtime situation as they occur.
Observe safety procedures and meet electrical codes.
Make decisions based on technical documents.
Perform quality testing and inspections.
Interpret and maintain consistent PM schedules.
Troubleshoot equipment failures.
Develop and maintain relationships with outside contractors. Repairing preventative maintenance on machines and equipment. (grinding mills, sifters, elevators, bag houses, rotary screws, operating control panels, rotary gas dryer, heat exchangers, packaging equipment, and other process equipment).
Craft skills which may be required include: welding, pipefitting, general electric, mechanical fabrication and general repair.
Inventory control of maintenance parts.
Performs housekeeping duties.
Monitoring bag house emissions and other potential leak sources of dust and documenting accordingly.


ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles.
Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Mechanics can be called upon 24/7.
Hours are M-F 6:30am to 3pm. with on-call rotation (every third week) with pay incentives for call-ins. Must be able to work overtime, holidays and weekends.



Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience. Associate’s Degree in related fields is beneficial.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in related hands on position/s.

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.

  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.

  • Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.

  • Must be willing to work shift work.

  • Lift 50 to 100 lbs.

  • Steel-toed boots.
