About the Job
Drillers will operate one man self-contained rock drilling unit in quarries located in Texas. Service in and out daily, as well as troubleshooting problems with drill is part of the drillers responsibility. This position requires 90% Travel.

Perform Driller maintenance & inspection activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment
Develop and maintain effective positive work relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors and agencies
Understand different drill patterns and terminology and execute drill pattern and layout
Effectively report ground conditions as drilling on hole logs
Perform general housekeeping duties to continuously maintain safe, clean worksite
Monitor drill controls and the progress of the drilling operations to necessary site/blasting/management team
Understand and accurately complete and submit timely all required paperwork
Knowledge and ability to comply with MSHA guidelines and regulations
Responsible for loading/unloading tooling and supplies
Adaptable with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and adjust to new tasks and environment
Mechanically inclined with ability to perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment and troubleshoot major problems with mechanic
Other duties as applicable to the position. Schedule: Varies based on job while on the road. Typical day starts at 6:00-6:30am
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to complete basic math calculations
Valid TX Driver's License
Ability to travel, Per Diem and travel expenses covered by company.Â
Must be able to read, write and follow instructions
Preferred Requirements:
Drilling experience
Quarry experience highly preferred
Some mechanical experience
Heavy equipment experience
Physical Requirements:
Loading/unloading tooling and supplies from ground level up to 5' and amounts up to 50#
Climbing, kneeling, heavy lifting, reaching
Driving and heavy machinery operation using arm, hand, foot and leg control
Effective verbal speaking and auditory perception
Near, far and peripheral visual acuity
