Lab Tech/Quality Control

Pay: $17/Hr

Lab assistant needed to work in laboratory testing product, gathering samples and cleaning. No prior experience is necessary. Candidates must be accurate and fulfill all safety requirements. Good math skills are necessary. Duties: Receives and inventories samples, prepares samples for testing, records test results, maintains lab and testing equipment and cleans the lab. Performs simple math (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication) functions to determine test results. Skills to be acquired: techniques and procedures involved in sampling, testing and inspection of materials: occupational safety hazards and precautions applicable to the work including proper use of personal protective equipment; use of commonly used laboratory equipment including balances, ovens, glassware, hot plates; material sampling techniques; terms and symbols commonly used in laboratory environment. Ability to: set up and solve mathematical equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; perform repetitive tasks with high degree of accuracy, multitask and work independently; work with frequent interruptions and occasional changes in priorities; repeatedly record data accurately. Skills in: assembling tools and equipment to perform variety of tests; use of laboratory equipment in performing laboratory tests; mechanical, organizational and detail aptitude; proficient in oral and written communication. Hours: Monday to Friday: Midnight to 8AM with some weekend work.
