About the Job
The Technician III role focuses on repairing and operating heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, dump trucks, trash trucks, and fire apparatus, while also performing welding, fabrication, diagnostics, hydraulic work, diesel repair, and full system repairs. The position may supervise assigned employees and requires maintaining clean work areas, completing paperwork, responding to service calls, and participating in ongoing technical training and certification. Work is performed in hazardous environments involving extreme temperatures, confined spaces, heavy lifting up to 100 pounds, and exposure to chemicals, dust, fumes, and uneven terrain. Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm. Friday 7:00am-11am.
Requirements
Must obtain a valid Texas Class A Driver’s License within (1) year of hire date.
Must obtain an ASE A1 Engine Repair Certification, ASE A6 Electrical Systems Certification, ASE T2 Diesel Engine Certification, ASE T4 Brake Certification within (2) year of hire date or as budget allows.
Must have enough education to read & write effectively for this position; must be able to comprehend and speak the English language;Â a high school diploma or G.E.D. is a plus but not required.Â
Prefer three years or more experience in maintenance and repair of a wide variety of motorized equipment, two years of welding in automotive or construction field, and one-year tire repair of all types.
At least one year experience in maintenance and repair of heavy equipment. Prefer completion of some technical schooling.
