About the Job
Quality Control Inspector needed for a local fabrication and manufacturing facility in Brownwood. This position is responsible for inspecting fabricated and assembled products throughout the production process and ensuring every item meets company quality standards and blueprint specifications before leaving the shop. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, experienced with metal fabrication, and confident identifying and communicating quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect finished and in-process products to ensure they meet blueprint specifications, dimensions, and quality standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to verify products are manufactured accurately
Confirm all required parts and components are present before products move to the next stage or are shipped.
Inspect materials and assemblies for proper fit, alignment, dimensions, fastening, and overall workmanship.
Identify substandard welds, fabrication defects, incorrect dimensions, poor fit-up, and other quality issues.
Mark cutting lines and verify materials are cut and fabricated according to specifications.
Test products for proper functionality and performance.
Perform troubleshooting and stress testing when needed to identify potential failures or defects before products are shipped.
Document and communicate quality issues and work with production employees to determine appropriate corrections.
Provide constructive feedback to welders, fabricators, and other production team members to help prevent recurring quality issues.
Conduct final inspections to ensure every product leaving the shop is accurate, complete, functional, and meets customer specifications.
Help identify potential problems that could lead to rework, customer complaints, product failures, or recalls.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Overtime offered weekly as needed on Fridays and Sundays.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of relevant quality control, fabrication, welding, or manufacturing experience.
Must be able to confidently read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong ability to measure and verify dimensions accurately to 1/8 inch.
Ability to identify substandard welds and common fabrication defects.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to communicate quality concerns professionally and provide constructive feedback.
Ability to work independently while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.
Valid driver's license required.
Welding and metal fabrication experience strongly preferred.
