About the Job

Fitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing structural, mechanical, or fabricated components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications. The role involves measuring, cutting, aligning, and securing parts while ensuring quality, safety, and accuracy throughout the fabrication or installation process.

Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
Measure, cut, shape, and fit metal or other materials
Assemble structural or mechanical components using hand and power tools
Align and secure parts using bolts, clamps, welding, or fastening methods
Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy and quality standards
Operate shop equipment and machinery safely
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Collaborate with welders, fabricators, supervisors, and other team members
Perform repairs or modifications as needed. Work Environment:
Industrial shop, manufacturing facility, or construction site
May require standing, climbing, bending, and lifting for extended periods
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 6am-6pm, weekends as needed
Pay: $22-$24, if they can also weld $23-$24/Hour

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Experience in fitting, fabrication, construction, or mechanical assembly preferred

  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and technical drawings

  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments
