About the Job
The Quality Control Technician will inspect fabricated and machined parts, read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and document inspection results to help ensure products meet quality standards. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing or a similar industry, and knowledge of AWS or ASME standards is a plus. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with weekends as needed, and the work is in a manufacturing environment where you'll be on your feet, working around heavy equipment, and using required safety gear.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform in-process and final inspections on fabricated and machined components (welded assemblies, and large structural equipment)
· Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and other precision measuring instruments
· Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
· Verify weld quality against AWS/ASME codes and customer specifications
· Document inspection results and non conformances
· Identify and tag nonconforming material; initiate corrective action requests and support root cause analysis
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized inspection area in compliance with plant safety policies
Requirements
· High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or Welding Inspection preferred
· 2+ years of quality control/inspection experience in a heavy manufacturing, oilfield, or industrial fabrication environment
· Familiarity with ASME and/or AWS codes and standards relevant to oilfield equipment
· Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, quality/ERP software)
· Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work around heavy equipment and machinery
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
· Manufacturing plant floor environment with exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery
· Use of required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, etc.)
· Occasional overtime and weekend work based on production demands
